With over 40 years of lending, financial capacity building, community engagement, and advocacy expertise, NFF is a nonprofit and community development financial institution deeply committed to social justice.
In 2023, we:
Originated $50 million in total new lending to 32 organizations, financing that will benefit more than 178,000 of individuals and families
Provided direct, tailored financial management and financial consulting to 208 nonprofits and reached nearly 1,800 of nonprofit leaders through short engagements, events, and consulting webinars
Continued to share data, stories, and advice from the 1,100+ nonprofit leaders who took our 2022 State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey about the impact of the pandemic as well as events that activated calls for racial justice
But these accomplishments simply aren't enough.
With NFF’s first African American CEO, Aisha Benson, and over two-thirds of our staff and senior leadership identifying as people of color, NFF is entering the next phase of our organizational history. We’re providing new investment products and capacity-building services, reinvigorating our commitment to racial and financial equity, and increasing the flow of capital to organizations led by and serving communities of color.
